Settings Page

A fully functional Tidbit will manifest itself to user from all over the world in different languages. In the settings page, users will be given the option to change the language of the application to their primary language of choice. At the moment the choices are between English and Spanish, however, we plan to incorporate the major languages into our functionality such as French, Japanese, German, Bahasa Melayu/Indonesia, Arabic, Tamil, Hindi, Cantonese, Hokkien, and Mandarin.

 

In the setting’s page, users will be allowed to add facts, stories, or ideas, to be uploaded. This content will be directed towards a trending page, whereby the content and categories with the most votes will be featured on our home page, as part of one of the nine icons. 

Trending Page

Once a user adds content to Tidbit is goes through a peer-reviewing process based on a voting system. The categories with the highest added content and most upvotes will become a feature category for the week on the home page, and the most voted contents of that category will be part of the randomized sequence of generation for that specific icon. 

Randomize Button 

Not included in the original design, the random button will allow users to generate random content uploaded with little effort by simply clicking on the button, The randomize content will not be linked to any featured categories but rather the whole application.

Featured Content

Featured content are a result of peer-reviewed content, and will include to top uploaded content of each category. The application moderators will update these featured content and categories, once a week to maintain the attractibility and addictiveness of the app. 

The Tidbit Game

The Tidbit game is a general knowledge game that will test players on their general knowledge. All the questions will be derived from content uploaded into the Tidbit application. At the end of the game, a player will be rewarded with points that will be exchangeable for social rankings and medals but also potentially a charitable component (i.e. trade points to give to Charity, for example, 1000 points = $1). 

Re-direction

At Tidbit, we are always seeking to connect the community of those who are seekers of knowledge with those that possess the knowledge. The Tidbit community will see strategically placed advertisements that are related to the specific categories but also that do not interfere with their use of the app. These advertisements will directly users to more in-depth pages, in so allowing Tidbit users to expand their knowledge on fun facts that they find intriguing.
